Derek Glenna - Musical Director
Derek is a talented singer and musician, having grown up in a Barbershop family and joining the Barbership Harmony Society at an early age.
He has also been active as a director of two Sweet Adelines choruses in Region 6 over the last 10 years.
Derek is a Regional Champion quartet singer with Grand Design Quartet.

Grand Design was founded in the Fall of 2009 when long-time friends Derek Glenna and Matt Hall finally made good on a promise to someday sing together in a quartet. Through Derek's connections to both the Mankato and Hilltop choruses they recruited Don Hettinga and Leonard Huls to fill the other two parts. After singing together at the Land O' Lakes District Fall Contest in Rochester, MN, they decided there was definitely some potential, and soon after Grand Design became official. After several months of rehearsal, coaching, and arguing over which shoes to buy, they competed in their first competition and were crowned both 10,000 Lakes Division Champions and Novice Quartet Champions. Since then, they have gone on to win the Southwest Division Contest, have finished 3rd and 2nd in the Land O' Lakes District Contests in 2010 and 2011, and have qualified for the BHS International Contests in Kansas City, MO and Portland, OR.
As a group, they have over 50 years of Barbershopping experience. They enjoy a wide variety of musical styles and their members have diverse backgrounds ranging from classical male choral groups to rock and roll bands. They have had the chance to perform all across Minnesota and Wisconsin and look forward to performing for you very soon.
